i close my eyes, and this image floats beside me:

a sweaty-toothed madman
with a stare that pounds my brain.

his hands reach out and choke me,
and all the while he's mumbling;

Mr. Keating:
We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are all noble pursuits, and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. todd is 16 years old; born october 16^th, 1943.

he wants to be a writer.

he's shy. painfully shy.

he has a brother called jeffery -- he was a valedictorian and a national merit scholar at welton academy.

his best friend is neil perry; his best friend killed himself.

there's a poet inside todd, alive and hungry, waiting to suck the marrow out of life; he's only just discovered this poet within himself.

fandom_minds after neil perry killed himself, after the dead poets society was stripped of its secrecy, after mr. john keating was sacked from the strict welton academy.

it's been a week since neil killed himself. todd steals away to the hidden cave, where the dead poets society used to meet, only to find himself walking into tziyyon.
